The Marriage of Figaro (Italian: Le nozze di Figaro is a commedia per musica (drama buffa) in four demonstrations made in 1786 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with an Italian lyrics composed by Lorenzo Da Ponte. It debuted at the Burgtheater in Vienna on 1 May 1786. The show’s lyrics depends on the 1784 phase parody by Pierre Beaumarchais, La folle journée, ou le Mariage de Figaro (“The Distraught Day, or The Marriage of Figaro”). It tells how the workers Figaro and Susanna prevail with regards to getting hitched, thwarting the endeavors of their philandering business Count Almaviva to lure Susanna and show him a thing or two in loyalty.

Considered one of the best shows ever written, it is a foundation of the collection and shows up reliably among the main ten in the Operabase rundown of most often performed operas. In 2017, BBC News Magazine requested that 172 drama vocalists vote in favor of the best shows at any point composed.
