Tickets for Trittico: Lander / Kylián / Béjart Ballet at Teatro alla Scala 2025
This autumn, Teatro alla Scala invites you to experience an extraordinary ballet evening that bridges classical brilliance, lyrical modernity, and hypnotic power. Trittico: Lander / Kylián / Béjart brings together three masterpieces by iconic choreographers, each offering a distinct artistic voice—and featuring the incomparable étoile Roberto Bolle in Boléro on selected dates.
Études
Choreography: Harald Lander
Music: Carl Czerny (arr. Knudåge Riisager)
Production: Teatro alla Scala
A stunning homage to classical ballet technique, Études opens the evening with a celebration of discipline, precision, and purity. Set to the brilliant études of Czerny—reimagined for orchestra—this ballet charts the arc of a dancer’s day, from barre exercises to stage virtuosity. Lander’s choreography is both a love letter to tradition and a showcase of dazzling technical prowess.
Petite Mort
Choreography and Scenery: Jiří Kylián
Music: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Costumes: Joke Visser
Lighting: Jiří Kylián, realized by Joop Caboort
Lighting and Scenic Supervision: Joost Biegelaar
Pianist: Takahiro Yoshikawa
Production: Teatro alla Scala
Sensual, poetic, and unforgettable, Petite Mort pairs Kylián’s emotionally charged movement with the sublime adagio from Mozart’s piano concertos. Twelve dancers—six men, six women—move through striking tableaus of intimacy and tension, their motions heightened by elegant fencing foils and moments of stillness. This is dance as pure emotional expression, refined and haunting.
Boléro
Choreography: Maurice Béjart
Music: Maurice Ravel
Production: Teatro alla Scala
At the heart of the evening lies Béjart’s legendary Boléro, a ritualistic crescendo of rhythm and desire. With Ravel’s iconic music driving the momentum, the central dancer—perched on a red table—is surrounded by a pulsating ensemble. In selected performances (September 22, 24, 28, and 30), the role will be performed by the celebrated étoile Roberto Bolle, whose presence elevates Béjart’s vision to mythic proportions.
Musical Direction: SIMON HEWETT
Piano: Takahiro Yoshikawa
Étoile: ROBERTO BOLLE (Sept. 22, 24, 28, 30)
Don’t miss this rare union of classical refinement, contemporary poetry, and electrifying theatricality—performed by the stars of La Scala Ballet.
