Alcatraz opened in 1998 inside a 1946 industrial building on Via Valtellina, just north of Milan's Porta Nuova–Isola district. Founded by Enrico Rovelli, Vasco Rossi's long-time manager, the 3,000-capacity space has been one of Milan's most active mid-size venues for over twenty-five years, blending live concerts, club nights and fashion shows under a single roof.
