Unipol Forum, Milan (Assago)

Opened on 26 October 1990 in Assago, just beyond Milan's southern edge, the Forum is the city's principal indoor arena. Its low drum within the Milanofiori complex earned a European prize for sports architecture in 1994, and over three decades it has carried several names — long familiar as the Mediolanum Forum before becoming the Unipol Forum.

The arena is the home court of Olimpia Milano, Italy's most titled basketball club, and doubles as the Milan stop for international concert tours, shows on ice, and family productions. Depending on how the floor and stage are configured, capacity reaches up to 15,800.

Layout and sectors

The hall is a single bowl wrapped around a central floor. For concerts, the floor (parterre) is set up either standing or seated according to the production, with numbered tiered seating rising around it on all sides; for basketball, the tiers surround the court completely. Sector names and numbering vary by event configuration, so the seating map published for each show is the reference.

Getting there

Metro line M2 (green) runs directly to the Assago Milanofiori Forum terminus, opened in 2011 a short walk from the entrance — about 20 minutes from central Milan. By car, the arena sits beside the A7 motorway at the Milanofiori exit, with large parking areas around the complex.
