About the Event
Daniele Rustioni – Brahms & Berlioz — Teatro alla Scala, Milan 2026
Daniele Rustioni conducted at the Teatro alla Scala from 22 to 25 September 2026. Accompanied by Maestro del Coro Alberto Malazzi, Rustioni led the Orchestra and Chorus of La Scala in a programme combining the intellectual depth of Brahms with the dramatic imagination of Berlioz.
The evening opened with Johannes Brahms’ Akademische Fest-Ouvertüre, Op. 80, a concert overture. It was followed by Brahms’ Schicksalslied, Op. 54, a work for chorus and orchestra on fate and destiny.
The programme closed with Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique, Op. 14. Berlioz’s score tells the story of an artist’s obsession and unrequited love, with dramatic contrasts and a wide orchestral palette.
The concert was part of La Scala’s Symphonic Season 2026.
Daniele Rustioni conducts Gounod’s Faust at Teatro alla Scala, with performances from 20 October to 8 November 2026.
