Giselle Milan

Giselle at Teatro alla Scala 2026

Giselle is a two-act Romantic ballet, first danced in Paris in 1841 to a score by Adolphe Adam, and it returns to Teatro alla Scala in Milan this autumn.

The ballet follows Giselle, a village girl who learns that Albrecht, the man she loves, is betrothed to another. Her mad scene closes the first act; the second takes place among the Wilis, the spirits of brides who died before their wedding day, where she protects Albrecht until dawn.

This production uses the choreography of Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot, revived by Yvette Chauviré, with the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Agrest.
