Adriana Lecouvreur is a four-act opera, adapted by Francesco Cilia, and an Italian script written by Arturo Colauti, adapted from Eugene Scribe in 1849 Ernest Le Gouvi’s play “Adriana Lecouvreur”. It premiered on November 6, 1902 in Milan’s theaters.
Francesco Cilea’s most famous opera is enjoying new popularity and respect, winning the favor of a new generation of opera actors. Although with the most respected sopranos-Mafalda Favero, Renata Tibaldi, Clara Petra, Mirella Freni and Daniela Desi- Is famous for its legendary interpretation-but it has been absent from La Scala since 2007. Now it returns to McVicar at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden in a work originally directed by David. The outstanding Italian conductor Gianpaolo Bisanti will be on the podium and lead today’s best stage talent.
