Giuseppe Verdi formed the drama “I Vespri Siciliani” in five demonstrations, the lyrics was composed by Eugène Scribe. The Duchess Hélène, whose sibling was killed by the French, sings an opportunity melody that instigates the Sicilians to oppose French rule. Giovanni da Procida, got back from exile, invites his country and approaches the Sicilians to battle. The drama is about double-crossing, scheme, interest and vengeance. While Hélène and Henri need to get hitched and wish for compromise between the Sicilians and the French, Procida requests the freedom of Sicily.
